The main objective of the CCR is to support safer (re)-construction of buildings, especially in regards to earthquakes, through three main activities: 1. provision of technical support to Haitian institutions and I-NGOs 2. training of construction professionals (masons, trainers) 3. information campaign to the non-professional public
Background Information
- Technical support to Haitian institutions (MTPTC): collaboration, training of staff, elaboration of guides and training material.
- Technical support to INGOs and NGOs: project evaluations, technical counseling, material testing, training on construction sites.
- Training of construction professionals (MENFP and NGO trainers): training of trainers, training of masons, elaboration of dual vocational training programs and corresponding training material.
- Information campaigns for non-professionals and self-builders: communication platform, awareness raising products (calendars, posters, billboards, TV spots, cement bag prints, etc.).
- Most of the developed training and information material has been adapted to other international contexts and translated: English, Spanish, Haitian Creole and Turkish (Farsi in progress).
