Summary
In the frame of the support to the minorities, SDC planned to support the Serb community in Kosovo, and since two years budgeted approx. 500,000 CHF for the KS school of Lipjan/Lipljan. As the Municipality was not able to put a land plot on disposal for the school, the project had to be abandoned and the Coof decided to reallocate the funds to Northern Mitrovica where the needs are still big. Goals, Beneficiaries: The aim is to relieve the school which is overcrowded and provide an additional space to extend it and in this manner improve the teaching for both children and professors. Approach: The work was planned to include one extension to the existing building. Finally, due to plot limit constraints, the construction consisted in the partition of one internal gymnastic space into two classrooms, plus other smaller internal adjustments.
